If Council wants us to make submissions on this report, it could help by providing a version in English, not incomprehensible planner-speak gobbledegook. Two random examples:
What does "legibility of relationship between car space and residential address" mean? (P46)
What is "place based activation of public spaces"? (P40)
The author has ignored my request for clarification.
The revised version should preferably remove the awful but ubiquitous word "vibrant". Try substituting 'calm', 'restful', 'verdant', or similar.
I notice also that the 'artist's impression' on the council's media release web page refers to 'Northern Beaches Town Centre'. [http://www.northernbeaches.nsw.gov.au/news/20161130-new-vibrant-northern-beaches-town-centre-revealed]. Is that official? I realise it is no longer appropriate to have a name which includes the word 'Forest', but centre of the Northern Beaches we are certainly not.
There aren't too many ways available for venting one's anger or frustration at some of the things happening in the world around us. One such escape valve is the good old Letter to the Editor, even if only a small proportion of them gets published. It is often well-nigh impossible to keep the discussion short enough for the newspapers. So rather that have them expire in some Editor's Trash bin, we'll preserve them for posterity here. Inevitably, though, some nuances will be lost for those unfamiliar with the background or the letter or article to which we are responding. But each is undoubtedly a miniature literary masterpiece, though you may find the themes become somewhat repetitive.
